Do I need a QES to register?
Yes. Documents must be signed with a qualified electronic signature (QES). You can get one from Evrotrust for EUR 15–25.
What is the difference between freelance and EOOD?
Freelance means you operate as an individual — lower tax burden at incomes up to ~EUR 15,000/year, but no limited liability. An EOOD is a legal entity with limited liability.
Can I issue invoices as a freelancer?
Yes. With a BULSTAT registration you can issue invoices and receive payments from clients in Bulgaria and abroad.
When is VAT registration mandatory?
When turnover exceeds EUR 51,130 for the current calendar year. For EU B2B clients — Art. 97a registration applies.
