What is OKD-5?
OKD-5 is a declaration filed at the National Revenue Agency (NRA) to register as a self-insured (self-employed) person in Bulgaria. It is mandatory for freelancers and must be filed within 7 days of starting activity.
Who needs to file OKD-5?
- Anyone who has registered a BULSTAT number as a freelancer
- EOOD managers who are also the sole owner (same rules apply)
- Any person who starts self-employed work or changes their insurance status
What information is in OKD-5?
The declaration covers:
- Chosen insurable income (BGN 933–3,750/month for 2026)
- Types of insurance to pay (pension, health, supplementary pension)
